Great BBQ! The family stopped in for lunch while traveling. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys flavorful BBQ. Fresh and made in house. For example, the fried okra didn’t come from a bag; it was the real thing, and tasty too. Impressive service with a small town hospitality.

Tiny little restaurant with a homey feel. It took awhile for the food to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Ribs were good as well as the Brunswick stew. The fried okra was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. The small staff was working very hard to serve everyone as quickly as possible. We all left full and happy.

Amazing customer service! We were visiting the area and saw the great reviews. Personalized hometown feel even for the visitors. My daughter (11) even noticed the difference in service. Well done Hickory Pit BBQ!

Excellent experience and well worth the detour. Stopped in for lunch on our way back to FL. The service was exactly what I would hope for in a small place such as this. The sweet tea is on point and the BBQ is amazing. The fried okra was perfectly cooked and not greasy by any means. The Brunswick stew was delicious and I wanted to take the whole batch home! If you are considering this place, DO IT! You will not regret it.

Oh man. They are seriously the best ribs I’ve ever had in my entire life. They are tender, juicy, smoky, sweet, and tangy. Everything you look for in good barbecue. My only complaint is that they have a very small dining room, so if you would like to dine in make sure you’re prepared to wait for a table, ready to sit outside, or come at a slower time. Even being used to the mustard sauces from the Carolinas, you don’t miss it. You can’t go wrong with this place.
